Message from the Former Chair, Cole Imperi
All things have an end, even the good things!
It has been an incredible honor to serve on the Board of Overseers of Linden Grove since 2015, including as the Board’s first female president over the last 18 months. The pandemic threw a wrench in my life plans, as it has for many of us, and I am relocating out to Los Angeles very soon. This is the only reason I am resigning and unable to complete my term, and for that I apologize to the community.
The cemetery will be lead by our new Board President, Pete Nerone, a position he has held before. Pete knows much more about Covington, and Linden Grove, than I do and I look forward to seeing where he takes things.
You might think being involved with a cemetery is boring—not Linden Grove! If you are reading this, please consider joining as a volunteer, and let us know if you might have interest serving on the board. Our board is highly engaged, and the workload is very manageable and rewarding. I’ve asked board members to set aside about 4 hours a month, which includes our monthly 60 minute board meeting. The issues that do pop up from time to time are always interesting and the sense of purpose is very real. Board members non only care for our living community, but also the community that came before us. There are opportunities to learn about our local history, about plants and tress, about important community issues, and about each other. We host events, and collaborate with other community groups. We are very LIVELY, for being, well, somewhat dead.
In all of my years serving on boards (since I was 21 years old), the Linden Grove experience has been THE BEST. I will miss it terribly.
