The Linden Green
Have you joined us for an event in the past, like Cinema in the Cemetery?
Then you may have sat with family and friends On “The Linden Green.”
The Linden Green is a large, unused section of our grounds where we host events and encourage people to enjoy our historical urban greenspace. In this space, it’s OK to throw out a blanket and have a picnic, sunbathe, practice yoga, paint or any other relaxing activity. The Linden Green is located near the center of our cemetery grounds in the valley between most of our mausoleums. There are no burials in this space—it’s essentially a ~4 acre park in the middle of an historic cemetery!
The photo above is from Cinema in the Cemetery 2017, facilitated by Linden Grove, Covington Parks & Recreation, The Center for Great Neighborhoods of Covington, and The Neighborhood of Peaselburg. All of those people are seated in the Linden Green. In various areas of our grounds, we have also co-hosted other amazing events like Shakespeare In the Park and the Covington Farmer’s Market.
After it is safe to hold events again, post COVID-19, we are thrilled to utilize this amazing urban greenspace… smack dab in the center of our beautiful grounds in Covington, KY.
Naming Rights
So here’s where you might come in! We are looking to our community for an organization, company or family to purchase naming rights to the Linden Green. This is a great way to memorialize a loved one. Those who purchase naming rights will get to name this section of the cemetery “The NAME at Linden Green.” This is a donation, and the purchase of naming rights will allow us to purchase flexible fencing to ring the Linden Green borders as well as signage.
