Meet the Superintendent

Rick Ludlum

Ever wonder who works to maintain the Linden Grove grounds, integrity of its burial plots, and ultimately its Level I Arboretum status? Well, that’s none other than Linden Grove’s dedicated superintendent, Rick Ludlum.

In 2019—after serving on the Board of Overseers for 12 years—Rick was appointed superintendent, a part-time role that requires a deep understand of cemeteries, arboretums, native plants, and genealogy. Ludlum has extensive experience in related areas like horticulture, landscaping, and design, and even previously at the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden for nearly twenty years.

To say that Linden Grove wouldn’t be able to operate without Rick would be an understatement. We are so grateful for Rick and the teams he assembles to care for the Linden Grove 22+ acres year-round, including projects like tree trimming, mowing, leaf removal, and even irrigation. It truly is a labor of love that both honors the individuals interred on these historic grounds and educates the community about our unique urban greenspace.
